Regular Season Round 4: Brest - Tsmoki-Minsk R. 69-101

Bottom-ranked Brest (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-69 loss to sixth ranked Tsmoki-Minsk R. (2-2) in Brest. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk R.. Brest was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki-Minsk R. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 38 and made 30-of-39 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Tsmoki-Minsk R. forced 21 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 48-30 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tsmoki-Minsk R. players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Brest helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by center Vitali Lebedev (198-99) who scored that evening 13 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Mikita Stasilevich (195-96) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tsmoki-Minsk R. players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by forward Konstantin Solyshko (196-96) did not help to save the game for Brest. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tsmoki-Minsk R. moved-up to fourth place. Brest at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
