Regular Season Round 4: Lahti - Seagulls 84-90

Date: October 9, 2019
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Seagulls (3-1) beat on the road 8th ranked Lahti (1-3) 90-84 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-20. But Lahti won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for international Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valpo) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Jerry Evans (203-90, college: Nevada) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Courtney Stockard (196, college: St.Bonaventure) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lahti. Five Seagulls and four Lahti players scored in double figures. Seagulls have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kouvot. Newly promoted Lahti dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Seagulls will face KTP Basket (#10) in Kotka in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lahti will play on the road against Pyrinto in Tampere and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
