Regular Season Round 5: Centrum - Baerum Basket 64-84

The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest Baerum Basket's (#2) easy road victory over Centrum (#5) 84-64 on Wednesday evening. Strangely Centrum outrebounded Baerum Basket 35-0 including a 29- advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Centrum helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international forward Sjur Berg (201-96, college: Alaska-Anch.) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Oivind Lundestad (194-91, college: PLNU) produced 19 points and guard Sander Aslesen (196-96) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Centrum's coach Inge-Aleksander Kristiansen rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Baerum Basket maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Kongsberg. Centrum at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Gimle BBK. Baerum Basket are looking forward to face Froya Basket (#6) in Laksevag in the next round. Centrum will play on the road against Tromso and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
