Regular Season Round 4: KTP Basket - Vilpas 78-89

Korisliiga top team - Vilpas (4-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked KTP Basket (1-3) in Kotka 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by Vilpas. KTP Basket was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated also this game. Worth to mention a quality performance of swingman Tim Coleman (196-95, college: NJIT) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward DJ Laster (198-96, college: Gardner-Webb) who added 22 points during the contest. Four Vilpas players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and forward JayVaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) scored 8 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vilpas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. KTP Basket at the other side dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. They share the position with Lahti. Vilpas will play against Kauhajoki (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KTP Basket will play against Seagulls in Helsinki to get more than just one victory in their record.
