An interesting game for Sendai 89ers (5-3) which played road game in Matsuyama against 4th placed Orange Vikings (2-6). Second ranked Sendai 89ers managed to get a 9-point victory 84-75. Sendai 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Keita Sawabe (184-95) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) came up with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and American-Puerto Rican center Chris Brady (208-95, college: Monmouth) added 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Orange Vikings in the defeat. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers maintains second place with 5-3 record behind leader Tokyo EX. Orange Vikings lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Koshigaya A. and Bambitious N.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
