Important game to mention about took place in Luxembourg. Contern (1-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging Heffingen (1-2) 69-68 in the game for the sixth place. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Strangely Heffingen outrebounded Contern 45-33 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Karrington Ward (201-93, college: E.Michigan, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import forward James Demery (198-95, college: St.Joseph's) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Contern players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 21 rebounds and the former international point guard Max Schmit (182-92) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Contern will play against Etzella (#9) in Ettelbruck in the next round. Heffingen will play at home against Larochette to get more than just one victory in their record.
