Regular Season Round 5: Rubon - Prinemanye 114-70

Premier League top team - Rubon (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Prinemanye (1-2) in Vitebsk 114-70. Prinemanye was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Rubon dominated on the defensive end, holding Prinemanye to just 4 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Prinemanye's 28 and had 30 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Prinemanye only scored six points from the stripe. Rubon forced 36 Prinemanye turnovers and outrebounded them 40-26 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Prinemanye was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Egro Potupchik (190-94) stepped up and scored 20 points, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winners and the former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. Five Rubon players scored in double figures. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Aleksandr Kalugin (185-1) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Sergey Lemeshevskiy (192-1) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Rubon have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Prinemanye at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Tsmoki II. Rubon will play against league's second-placed Impuls BGUIR Minsk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Prinemanye's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Grodno-93.
