Regular Season Round 3: UR Krakow - MKS DG 2 88-67

There was a small surprise when UR Krakow (2-1) smashed at home MKS DG 2 (2-1) 88-67 on Saturday. UR Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 36. They outrebounded MKS DG 2 48-30 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UR Krakow made 10 blocks. MKS DG 2 was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Tomasz Palmowski (199-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Karol Sasnal (186-99) helped adding 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four UR Krakow players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Dawid Boryka (188-97) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UR Krakow will face AZS AWF Mick. (#6) in Katowice in the next round. MKS DG 2 will play at home against Polonia Bytom and hope to win that game.
