Regular Season Round 3: Granada - Marin 83-56
Date: October 12, 2019
Not a big story in a game when Marin (0-3) was outscored on the road by CB Granada (2-1) 83-56 on Saturday. CB Granada made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Marin only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Marin 45-28 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Marin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Earl Watson (201-90, college: URI) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Josep Perez (184-94) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. Power forward Alejandro Mazaira (202-97) answered with 7 points and 12 rebounds and British-Irish forward Taiwo Badmus (203-93, college: Virginia-Wise) added 15 points in the effort for Marin. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Granada will face Real Canoe (#18) in Madrid in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Marin will play at home against Gipuzkoa and hopes to get finally their first victory.
