Regular Season Round 4: FC Barcelona - Valencia 97-94

The most exciting game of round 4 in the Liga Endesa took place in Barcelona. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Valencia Basket (2-2) to fifth ranked FC Barcelona (3-1) 97-94 on Sunday evening. FC Barcelona made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Nikola Mirotic (207-91) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) who added 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 30 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FC Barcelona moved-up to third place, which they share with RETAbet BB and Zaragoza. Valencia Basket at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. FC Barcelona is looking forward to face Gran Canaria (#7) in Las Palmas in the next round. Valencia Basket will play at home against Unicaja Malaga and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
