Regular Season Round 5: FC Barcelona 2 - Villarrobledo 71-74

Important game to mention about took place in Barcelona. Eighth ranked Villarrobledo (3-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Barca II (3-2) 74-71 on Sunday evening. Barca II was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard DeAngelo Hailey (190-90, college: NW Missouri St.) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and point guard Hector Jimenez (183-94) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Sergi Martinez (203-99) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian guard Juan-Ignacio Marcos (188-0) scored 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Barca II's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Villarrobledo moved-up to seventh place in Silver. Villarrobledo will face league's leader Girona Basquet at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Barca II will play against Real Murcia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
