Regular Season Round 6: Aisin AW - Tokyo CR 77-74

Eleventh-ranked Tokyo CR (1-5) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Aisin AW (5-1) in Aichi on Sunday. Aisin AW managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Aisin AW dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo CR's 20. Tokyo CR was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Point guard Yuzo Okada (180-92) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Tenyoku You (194-88) added 20 points in the effort for Tokyo CR. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Aisin AW have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Saga B. Loser Tokyo CR dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Aisin AW will face Kanazawa (#10) in Ishikawa in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
