The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Nishinomiya S. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Nishinomiya S. defeated 4th ranked Ibaraki R. in Hyogo 74-62. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: DePaul) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Nigerian forward Daniel Ochefu (211-93, college: Villanova) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Nishinomiya S. and four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. Ibaraki R.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Hiroshima D. Ibaraki R. at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Kumamoto V. and Yamagata. Ibaraki R. will play next round against Yamagata trying to get back on the winning streak. Nishinomiya S. will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Tokyo Z on the road.
