Date: October 13, 2019
The game in Saitama supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Shizuoka (3-2) played at the court of seventh ranked Saitama Broncos (2-3). Saitama Broncos smashed Shizuoka 85-57 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shizuoka. Saitama Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Shizuoka's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Shizuoka's players. Thailand power forward Jalen Robinson (206-93, college: Dalton St.) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and Bahamas Mark St.Fort (200-88, college: Warner) supported him with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Roschon Prince (198-94, college: Detroit Mercy) did not help to save the game for Shizuoka. Guard Ryota Kondo (190-96) added 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saitama Broncos maintains seventh position with 2-3 record, which they share with Kagoshima. Newly promoted Shizuoka keeps the fifth place with two games lost. Saitama Broncos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shizuoka will play against Tokyo HT (#12) and hope to secure a win.
