Regular Season Round 3: Panathinaikos - Promitheas 99-68

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Promitheas (2-1) in Athens on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Panathinaikos (3-0) 99-68. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Promitheas' 40. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international Konstantinos Mitoglou (208-96, college: Wake Forest) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida) helped adding 6 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Dimitris Katsivelis (196-91) with 13 points and 4 assists and American forward Chase Fieler (203-92, college: FGCU) scored 15 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos is looking forward to face PAOK (#10) in Thessaloniki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Promitheas will have a break next round.
