Everything went according to plan in Torreon where second ranked Aaguacateros (7-2) beat 8th ranked Laguneros (1-11) 89-72 on Monday. Aaguacateros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Laguneros' players. It was a great evening for American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). International center Edgar Garibay (211-90, college: LBSU, agency: Best of You Sports) helped adding 14 points. Four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Aaguacateros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Decensae White (198-88, college: San Francisco St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Trent Steen (203, college: UAPB, agency: One Motive Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Aaguacateros maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Mineros, which they share with Lenadores. Laguneros lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Aaguacateros will face Abejas (#5) in Guanajuato in the next round. Laguneros will play against Plateados and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
