Regular Season Round 6: Okayama - Toyoda Gosei 80-94

An interesting game for Toyoda Gosei (6-0) which played road game in Okayama against second-best Okayama (4-2). Top-ranked Toyoda Gosei managed to get a 14-point victory 94-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Okayama. Toyoda Gosei players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall, agency: HMS) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and forward Yusuke Mukai (194-81) scored 19 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyoda Gosei have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted Okayama dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Toyoda Gosei will play against Gifu Swoops (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okayama will play against Iwate Big Bulls (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
