Regular Season Round 6: Koping Stars - Wetterbygden 82-96

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Koping Stars (5-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Wetterbygden (3-2) 96-82. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Koping Stars. The game was mostly controlled by Wetterbygden. Koping Stars managed to win second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wetterbygden made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Ty Sabin (190-94, college: Ripon, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Ivorian forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Wetterbygden's coach Boris Balibrea used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jeremy Combs (201-95, college: Texas Southern) replied with 25 points and his fellow American import guard Gary Blackston (188-96, college: PVAMU, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Koping Stars. Four Koping Stars players scored in double figures. Wetterbygden moved-up to fourth place. Koping Stars at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with BC Lulea. Wetterbygden are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Umea (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Koping Stars will play against Nassjo (#7) and are hoping to win this game.
