Regular Season Round 6: Umea - Djurgarden 95-85

Umea's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Djurgarden (1-4) 95-85. The game was mostly controlled by Umea. Djurgarden was better in second period 31-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Umea outrebounded Djurgarden 40-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American-U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Georgio Milligan (188-90, college: Franklin & Marshall) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Rodney Williams (201-93, college: Drexel) chipped in 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Derrick Wilson (185-92, college: Marquette) with 25 points and 7 assists and Nigerian-American Obinna Oleka (203-93, college: ASU, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Umea and four Djurgarden players scored in double figures. Umea left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Jamtland and Djurgarden. It was Djurgarden's fourth loss in a row. Umea will play against higher ranked Wetterbygden (#4) in Huskvarna in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Djurgarden will play at home against Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
