Regular Season Round 3: Celje - Orlovi 119-64

No shocking result in a game when Slovenian Celje (3-0) crushed at home Bosnian Orlovi (0-3) 119-64. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Orlovi's 32. They outrebounded Orlovi 63-24 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Celje players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Orlovi's players. The best player for the winners was Swedish guard Paulina Hersler (190-94, college: Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Portuguese-Bulgarian center Maria Kostourkova (193-97, college: WSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Four Celje players scored in double figures. Celje's coach felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin guard Jelena Nikpaljevic (175-94) who recorded 16 points and Serbian swingman Tamara Rajic (182-93) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively. Celje's next round opponent will be Banovici (#6) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Orlovi will play against Buducnost and hopes to get finally their first victory.
