Regular Season Round 12: Bucaros - Academia 86-68

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Academia (7-5) against sixth ranked Bucaros (5-5) on Wednesday night. Visiting Academia was defeated by Bucaros in Bucaramanga 86-68. Bucaros players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Lamar Roberson (203-86, college: La-Lafayette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Uruguayan point guard Leandro Taboada (180-86) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Bucaros players scored in double figures. American point guard Frank Agholor (183, college: York, NE) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import center Mike Chandler (203-92) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Academia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bucaros moved-up to third place, which they share with Piratas. Academia at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Bucaros will play against Fast Break (#6) in Bogota in the next round. Academia will have a break next round.
