Regular Season Round 5: Seagulls - KTP Basket 76-75

Date: October 16, 2019
A very interesting game took place in Helsinki. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked KTP Basket (1-4) to third ranked Seagulls (4-1) 76-75 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. KTP Basket was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 17-11 charge of Seagulls, which allowed them to win the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by KTP Basket's players. American point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) saved the victory by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. International Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward JayVaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) added 19 points in the effort for KTP Basket. KTP Basket's coach Tomi Kaminen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Seagulls. They moved-up to second place. KTP Basket at the other side keeps the tenth position with four games lost. Seagulls' next round opponent will be Kauhajoki (#8) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. KTP Basket will play against Pyrinto and hope to win that game.
