Everything went according to plan in Piadena where tenth ranked Corona Platina (3-3) outscored bottom-ranked Mestre (0-6) 86-67 on Wednesday. Corona Platina dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mestre's 34. They outrebounded Mestre 52-33 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Andrea Leone (186-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and center Antonio Lorenzetti (195-95) who added 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Marco Lazzaro (198-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Davide Bovo (198-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Mestre's coach Fabio Volpato let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Corona Platina have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Omnia Basket. Mestre at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. Corona Platina will face Crema (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mestre will play against the league's second-placed San Vendemiano having rather not much hope for a victory.
