Regular Season Round 3: Breidablik - Hamar 76-93

Date: October 17, 2019
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Breidablik (2-1) in Kopavogur on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Hamar (3-0) 93-76. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Breidablik managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Hamar outrebounded Breidablik 53-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Kinu Rochford (200-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St., agency: Promotex) helped adding 23 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern, agency: SDJ Sports) with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Hilmar Petursson (187-0) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamar are looking forward to face Snaefell (#7) in Stykkisholmur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Breidablik will play on the road against Hottur in Egilsstadir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
