The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Aaguacateros as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aaguacateros smashed 5th ranked Abejas in Michoacan 91-65. 25 personal fouls committed by Abejas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) chipped in 18 points. Four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Aaguacateros' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Spencer Williams (188-95, college: Wooster) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively. Aaguacateros have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Abejas at the other side keep the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Astros. Abejas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Aaguacateros will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Abejas in Guanajuato.
