Date: October 17, 2019
Bottom-ranked Legia (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 103-64 loss to twelfth ranked Stelmet Enea BC (2-2) in Zielona Gora on Thursday evening. They shot 60.4 percent from the field and had 29 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Legia only scored eight points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Stelmet Enea BC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Przemyslaw Zamojski (193-86, college: Independence CC) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Drew Gordon (206-90, college: N.Mexico, agency: Network Sports International) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Stelmet Enea BC players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Filip Matczak (187-93) responded with 10 points and 6 assists and Congolese forward Romaric Belemene (205-97) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stelmet Enea BC moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Enea Astoria and GTK Gliwice. Legia at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with BM Slam Stal and Polpharma. Stelmet Enea BC will meet Enea Astoria (#8) in the next round. Legia will play against HydroTruck Radom (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
