Very expected game in Sopot where 12th ranked Spojnia Stargard (1-3) was defeated by eighth ranked Trefl (3-1) 68-64 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American center Nana Foulland (208-95, college: Bucknell) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. The former international Mateusz Kostrzewski (200-89, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Raymond Cowels-III (191-91, college: Santa Clara) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Spojnia Stargard's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Trefl moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Spojnia Stargard dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Trefl will face league's leader Anwil in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spojnia Stargard will play on the road against GTK (#9) in Gliwice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
