Regular Season Round 7: Nassjo - Koping Stars 80-86

Date: October 18, 2019
Very predictable result when second ranked Koping Stars (6-1) defeated on the road 7th ranked Nassjo (1-4) 86-80 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Nassjo won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Koping Stars made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Jeremy Combs (201-95, college: Texas Southern) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Niklas Larsson (199-94) helped adding 19 points. Four Koping Stars players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Dartaye Ruffin (205-91, college: Drexel, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Nick Russell (193-91, college: SMU) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koping Stars keep a position of league leader. Nassjo lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Koping Stars will face KFUM Jamtland (#7) in Ostersund in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nassjo will play at home against Boras Basket and hope to win that game.
