Regular Season Round 4: Huesca - Coruna 65-66

A very close game took place in Huesca between Leyma Basquet and Magia Huesca. Fourth ranked Leyma Basquet (8-3) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Magia Huesca (5-6). Leyma Basquet managed to escape with a 1-point win 66-65 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The winners were led by American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (189-85, college: Providence, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 17 points and 4 assists and forward Sean Smith (203, college: St.Cloud St.) supported him with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds by Croatian forward David Skara (203-95, college: Clemson) did not help to save the game for Magia Huesca. Lithuanian center Robertas Grabauskas (208-90, college: Northwood, agency: HMS) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Leyma Basquet have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Palencia. Magia Huesca lost third consecutive game. Loser Magia Huesca dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Granada and Alicante. Leyma Basquet will meet at home Castello (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magia Huesca will play against Marin and hope to secure a win.
