But Saint-Quentin was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Nantes 77-70 on Friday night. Strangely Saint-Quentin outrebounded Nantes 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) scored 25 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89, college: Windsor) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American guard BA Walker (184-84, college: VCU, agency: Inception Sports) scored 5 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nantes will face Sluc Nancy (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saint-Quentin will play against SPO Rouen and hope to win that game.
