Regular Season Round 6: Chanson V-M - Toyota B SR 56-88

WJBL top team - Toyota B SR (5-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Chanson V-M (1-3) in Shizuoka 88-56. They outrebounded Chanson V-M 45-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. Toyota B SR looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Sakiko Nomachi (177-87) notched 23 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and swingman Saito Asami (173-96) supported her with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Toyota B SR players scored in double figures. Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks by power forward AI Ishikawa (183-99) did not help to save the game for Chanson V-M. Point guard Youjinai Sakata (162-96) added 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota B SR have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. Loser Chanson V-M dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with Hitachi Cougars. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
