There was a surprise result when JA Vichy (1-1) defeated at home SPO Rouen (1-1) 73-68 on Friday. JA Vichy made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 SPO Rouen turnovers. Naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valpo) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) chipped in 17 points during the contest. JA Vichy's coach Guillaume Vizade used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Jamar Diggs (190-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Congolese power forward Earvine Bassoumba (205-96, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. JA Vichy will face Aix-Maurienne (#14) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SPO Rouen will play at home against Saint-Quentin (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
