Regular Season Round 7: Jamtland - Sodertalje 98-85

There was an upset in Ostersund where higher ranked Sodertalje Kings (2-2) were defeated by ninth ranked KFUM Jamtland (2-4) 98-85 on Saturday. The game without a history. KFUM Jamtland led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. KFUM Jamtland looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sodertalje Kings' players. It was a great evening for American-French forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Steven Haney (195-95, college: Loyola Mary) helped adding 20 points (made all of his eight free throws). KFUM Jamtland's coach Torbjorn Gehrke used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Charles Callison (183-95, college: WSU) responded with 31 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Jonathan Person (190-93, agency: Interperformances) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KFUM Jamtland moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Norrkoping and Djurgarden. Defending champion Sodertalje Kings keep the fifth position with two games lost. KFUM Jamtland will face league's leader Koping Stars on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sodertalje Kings will play against the league's second-placed BC Lulea (#2) and hope to win that game.
