There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Cornella (3-2) smashed at home 4th placed Valls Nutrion (3-2) 81-55 on Saturday. They outrebounded Valls Nutrion 50-22 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Ignasi Belver (197-94) stepped up and scored 9 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Dominican center Joelvin Cabrera (-99) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Jordi Llagostera (180-95) responded with 9 points and 4 assists and Christian Kazadi scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cornella moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Valls Nutrion. Cornella will face Olivar (#13) in Zaragoza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valls Nutrion will play at home against Badalones (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
