Very expected game when 9th ranked Maree (1-4) lost to fourth ranked UCD Marian (3-1) in Galway 77-89 on Saturday. UCD Marian dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Maree's 40. UCD Marian had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Barry Drumm (186-87) accounted for 19 points and 5 assists. UCD Marian's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Darin Johnson (196-95, college: CSUN) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Eoin Rockall (185-98) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for Maree in the defeat.
