Very important is a home loss of third ranked Yokohama BC (2-3) against sixth ranked Shimane Magic (1-5) on Saturday night. Host Yokohama BC was defeated by Shimane Magic in Yokohama 74-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Yokohama BC. Shimane Magic looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Hungarian forward Gyorgy Goloman (211-96, college: UCLA) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shimane Magic left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Niigata A. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Ryukyu GK. Shimane Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yokohama BC will play again against Shimane Magic and hope to secure a win.
