Regular Season Round 5: PBB - Betanzos 73-64

Date: October 19, 2019
Everything could happen in Porrino at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked PBB and 10th ranked Betanzos had identical 1-1 record. This time PBB used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Betanzos 73-64 on Saturday night. Jorge Cabaleiro (-96) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Manuel Varela (-1) chipped in 14 points. Five PBB players scored in double figures. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Daniel Martin (187-97) scored 13 points. Betanzos' coach Ivan Villaverde rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PBB (2-1) moved-up to third place in Group A-B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Betanzos dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. PBB will face Chantada (#5) on the road in the next round. Betanzos will play against La Antigua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
