Regular Season Round 4: IK Eos - Helsingborg 110-94

Very expected game in Lund where 7th ranked Helsingborg (1-3) was defeated by third ranked IK Eos (4-1) 110-94 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by IK Eos. Helsingborg managed to win fourth quarter 30-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. IK Eos shot 62.1 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Helsingborg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) fired 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) chipped in 19 points. Four IK Eos players scored in double figures. Guard Anton Persson (180-97) produced 23 points and 9 assists and forward Felix Carlsson (198-95, college: Monroe Coll.) added 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. IK Eos moved-up to second place, which they share with AIK Basket. Helsingborg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. IK Eos will meet at home Taby Basket (#4) in the next round. Helsingborg will play against KFUM Fryshuset (#5) in Stockholm and hope to win that game.
