Regular Season Round 3: Estudiantes - Pozuelo 94-37

Date: October 19, 2019
There was no surprise in Madrid where Pozuelo (0-3) was crushed by ASEFA Estudiantes (2-1) 94-37 on Saturday. ASEFA Estudiantes held Pozuelo to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 60.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Pozuelo 46-22 including a 37-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. ASEFA Estudiantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Pozuelo's players. The best player for the winners was American Leslie Knight (184-86, college: Minnesota) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import guard Judy Jones (175-90, college: GCU) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Teresa Lopez-Perez (180-96) who recorded 11 points and 4 steals and guard Paloma Gonzalez (170-99, college: Minnesota) added 9 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ASEFA Estudiantes will face Arxil Pontevedra (#4) on the road in the next round. Pozuelo will play against Patatas Hijolusa (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
