Regular Season Round 4: Palma - Valladolid 87-80

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Carramimbre (9-2) against fifth ranked Palma (7-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Carramimbre was defeated by Palma in a tough game in S'Arenal 80-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Carramimbre. Palma forced 19 Carramimbre turnovers and had a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Carramimbre was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Liberian swingman Thomas Bropleh (196-91, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 steals and Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side American guard Frank Bartley-IV (190-94, college: La-Lafayette) responded with 24 points and Latvian point guard Toms Leimanis (190-94) scored 17 points. Four Carramimbre players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Palma maintains fifth position with 7-4 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Carramimbre at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with Delteco GBC. Palma will play against Caceres Basket (#7) on the road in the next round. Carramimbre will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
