Regular Season Round 8: Aisin AW - Kanazawa 80-86

The most important game in the last round took place in Aichi between second ranked Aisin AW (6-2) and twelfth ranked Kanazawa (2-6) on Sunday night. Aisin AW was defeated by Kanazawa in a tough game at home 80-86. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Aisin AW. The best player for the winners was American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 assists. Point guard Daichi Tomioka (165-95) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Kanazawa players scored in double figures. American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kanazawa moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tokyo CR. Aisin AW at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Kanazawa is looking forward to face higher ranked Saitama Broncos (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aisin AW will play against the league's second-placed Saga B. and will have a slim chance for a victory.
