Regular Season Round 5: Zamora - Leon 66-72

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Leon and bottom-ranked Zamora had identical 0-2 record. But Zamora was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Leon 72-66 on Sunday night. Swedish forward Musa Jeng (202-99) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Alan Morchon (185-99) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Leon's coach Julio Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Juan-Manuel Robles (194-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Aleix Pujadas (195-96) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Leon (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eighth place in Group A-B, which they share with 4 other teams. It was Zamora's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. Leon will face league's second-placed Gijon Basket at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zamora will play against Xiria (#7) in Carballo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
