Regular Season Round 7: Yokohama BC - Shimane SM 76-63

Rather predictable result when third ranked Yokohama BC (3-3) won against at home 6th ranked Shimane Magic (1-6) 76-63 on Sunday. Quite impressive performance for American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Hungarian forward Gyorgy Goloman (211-96, college: UCLA) contributed with 26 points for the winners. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC moved-up to second place, which they share with Ryukyu GK and Akita NH. Newly promoted Shimane Magic dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Yokohama BC will face Niigata A. (#5) at home in the next round. Shimane Magic will play against the league's leader Kyoto H. and hope to win that game.
