Regular Season Round 7: Ginebra Kings - Hotshots 105-83

The game in Manila supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Hotshots (3-4) played at the court of seventh ranked Ginebra Kings (3-2). Ginebra Kings smashed Hotshots 105-83 on Sunday. Ginebra Kings forced 19 Hotshots turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Guard Scottie Thompson (188-93) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American-North Macedonian Romeo Travis (198-84, college: Akron) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Rome dela-Rosa (191-90) scored 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ginebra Kings moved-up to sixth place. Hotshots lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with North Port. Ginebra Kings will meet Blackwater Elite (#10) in the next round. Hotshots will play against Columbian Dyip and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
