Regular Season Round 4: Gorizont II - Gorizont 47-116

Very predictable result in Minsk where top-ranked Gorizont (3-0) smashed bottom-ranked Gorizont II (0-4) 116-47 on Sunday. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Gorizont II's 32 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Gorizont II turnovers and outrebounded them 49-20 including a 34-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Gorizont II's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Morgan Green (170, college: UC Irvine) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Yana Lebedich (185-2) who added 17 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Aleksandra Shumeiko (173-1) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Ekaterina Yalchik (174-0) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorizont have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk and Olimpia. Gorizont II at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They will face BrGU COR Victoria (#5) in Brest in the next round. Gorizont II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Tsmoki-Minsk.
