There was a minor upset in Torrenovese where higher ranked Palermo GB (1-3) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Cestestica Aquila (1-3) 70-60 on Sunday. Cestestica Aquila made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Cestestica Aquila had a 37-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Boffelli (195-83) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Nigerian forward Obinna Nwokoye (198-95, agency: Players Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Brazilian forward Bruno Duranti (197-93) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Tommaso Minoli (188-94) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Palermo GB players scored in double figures. Palermo GB's coach Giovanni Bassi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cestestica Aquila left bottom position moving up to ninth place in B. Cestestica Aquila will face higher ranked Cecina (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palermo GB will play against Montecatiniterme (#15) and hope to win that game.
