Regular Season Round 3: Granada - Gran Canaria 59-95

Rather predictable result when Gran Canaria (2-1) outscored on the road Granada (0-3) 95-59 on Sunday. They outrebounded Granada 46-27 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Granada was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. American guard Sparkle Taylor (178-95, college: UTEP) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. Five Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Claudia Calvelo (192-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Andrea Alcantara (171-99) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria will face Ardoi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Granada will play against Unicaja (#14) in Malaga and hopes to get finally their first victory.
