Regular Season Round 4: HS Lab - Cagliari CUS 59-89

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked HS Lab (0-4) was rolled over at home by third ranked Cagliari CUS (3-1) 89-59 on Sunday. Cagliari CUS shot 25 for 34 from the free-throw line, while HS Lab only scored eight points from the stripe. Cagliari CUS forced 27 HS Lab turnovers. Strangely HS Lab outrebounded Cagliari CUS 35-19 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Cagliari CUS especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. HS Lab was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Erika Striulli (170-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 assists and 7 steals and Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Cagliari CUS players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Vittoria Blasigh (175-4) responded with 22 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and center Ashley Egwoh (191-2) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cagliari CUS moved-up to second place in A2. Newly promoted HS Lab still closes the standings with four games lost. Cagliari CUS will face league's leader Campobasso on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HS Lab will play against La Spezia (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
