Rather expected game when 5th ranked Bambitious N. (2-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Sendai 89ers (7-4) 69-51 on Sunday. It was a great evening for guard Masaharu Kataoka (190-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 assists. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Sendai 89ers maintains second place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Hiroshima D. Bambitious N. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Sendai 89ers will face Ibaraki R. (#3) in Tsukuba in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bambitious N. will play at home against Orange Vikings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
