Very important is a home loss of second ranked Kagawa FA (6-3) against sixth ranked Fukuoka R. (2-9) on Sunday night. Host Kagawa FA was defeated by Fukuoka R. in a tough game in Takamatsu 73-78. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kagawa FA. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll., agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Fukuoka R. and four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. Fukuoka R. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Koshigaya A. and Bambitious N. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the second position with three games lost. Fukuoka R. will meet at home higher ranked Fukushima (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kagawa FA will play against Koshigaya A. in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
